Four cycles of chemo instead of six?

Hey all, hope you are doing well.

My regime is Docetaxol or Paclitaxel with Carboplatin on three weekly schedule (plus Phesgo injections).

On this forum I saw people mention that in America oncologists prescribe four cycles rather than six of this regime.

I’m struggling on my fourth cycle (in the UK) and can’t imagine this for two more cycles so this gave me hope!

I wondered if anybody in the USA who had this treatment regime could verify?  It would be reassuring if oncologists there find 4 cycles sufficient, and would help when I talk to my oncologist.

(For anyone else struggling on cycle four, all I’ve been able to find is this clinical trial paper from the Dana Farber Institute , though it dates back to 2012-

In the US, if your lymph nodes are clear and your tumor wasn’t considered large, you do get four cycles. We call it CT which stands for taxotere and cyclophosamide. But cyclophosamide isn’t the same thing as carboplatin. Carboplatin is used but not for early stage breast cancer. So I’m not sure if just having four cycles of carboplatin would be the same intensity of as having four cycles of cyclophosamide. That would definitely be a question for your oncologist.
