Does she have a local pub that she uses often? if so she could ask them if she can have a raffel, perhaps every weekend when quite busy and raffel off say a* basket* of fruit or bottle of booze, it would make money and because everyone knows what the money is for they wouldnt expect large prizes…
Car Boot How about everyone looking through there cupboards digging out the things that we never use(even in the attic) we all I am sure have a lot of the that, then visit a car boot, tart the stall out with pink flags etc and a large board saying what the funds are being raised for. I myself certainly have lots of things that I do not need or want to use from a previous life before BC (think you know what I mean)just have to wait for a nice sunny day (dont fancy standing in the pouring rain) Let the organiser know what you are doing, who knows you might get the pitch free and he might throw in a couple of quid as well.
Karen I could always trawl the tip again…kinda missed it lately, you know how many working (well sort of)items I found…lol

Along the lines of Elaine, but instead of going to car boot sale go for a garage sale and advertise no real outlay.
Or go for something involving family and friends like sponsor singathon.
Newspapers have a slot for free advertising if for a good cause.

hi karen
you could rope in some schools nearby the hospital. get them to do an ‘own-clothes-day’ with a theme some would love to do it. ie valentines? fruity friday? character day? contact your local rag and get them to cover it
or …
a sponsored walk/run around the school grounds!
or … a ‘coffee mornin’ somewhere nearby. im sure you will have a hotel/restaurant/church hall/school room available.
a mighty raffle - will your bcn’s have a group with a constitution they may have a lottery license that way u cud get businesses involved
ooo im on one now ;O)
you could even organise a big boot sale for your town/village (wot eva) boot sale in aid of … and the monies earned from the stall fees - and of course a tea n cake stand (for refreshements u c) could bump up the takings
just afew for you hun xxxx
