Fundraising
Fundraising I’m sorry to be controversial - however,
I’ve just looked at the fundraising section and my new years resolution was to raise some money for this charity.
However, I can’t guarantee raising £250 which is what the walks expect of you … is there a walk I can join or another sponsered event where the expectations are lower. I work for one of the biggest UK Childrens Charitys so I know how important it is for sponsorship and fundraising. I have a couple of friends who would love to take part but I wouldn’t want to put the pressure of raising this minimum on them. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
Sharon
Hi Sharon… I believe it is possible to walk a team using one registration and therefore to raise the £250 between you. Perhaps BCC can confirm this? I think I read this in the FAQ section of the Ribbon Walk info.
Some friends and I will be doing the Cotswold walk together.

For Sharon Hi Sharon,
I have contacted our Fundraising department who have asked me to pass on to you the following:
Thank you for your interest in the Breast Cancer Care Ribbon Walk. I am writing in response to your concerns that you may be unable to raise the £250 sponsorship money we request from each participant in this event.
The fundraising total has been based on the costs involved in putting together an event of this quality, and is in line with best practice guidelines from the Institute of Fundraising.
I realise that this figure seems daunting, however I believe that once you begin your fundraising you will realise just how achievable this total really is. Our entire fundraising team is behind you, equipped with various tools and ideas to help you raise your money.
If you do decide not to register for the Ribbon Walk but still want to show your support, we do require volunteers to help us on the day. If this seems like an option you would be interested in, please contact me at paulm-at-breastcancercare.org.uk or 0207 751 8034.
Hope this is of assistance.
Kind regards
BCC Host
Hi Minxie… I too have decided to do the Cotswold walk in June and a few others from this site have opted to do it with me. The initial amount to raise does seem high but I am hoping it won’t be too hard if I start soon. I was hoping the amount could be raised by a team as opposed to each person in the team but I don’t think that is the case.
I live about 20 miles from Blenheim Palace where the walk will be taking place.
Maybe we could all meet up for a well deserved drink after the walk !!!
Take care.
Cathy
