can anyone give me any advice as to whether or not this has happened to them. after having a mammogram i was told i had a lump but was definately not cancer. it was decided however that this lump was removed, and three weeks later i had to go back to be told it was cancer! I now have to wait to have another operation to remove more and also various lymph things underneath my arm. this is then followed by radiotherapy. it is a size stage 1 and is small.
HI
mine was a grade 1 and 8mm also had lymoh nodes removed which were clear.
Good luck with your op were here for you x
HI
After my first age related mammogram after 50… I was told had high grade DCIS… had a maestetomy with an immediate reconstruction but unfortunately my DCIS turned out be invasive with lymph node involvement whch my mammogram didnt show up… only found after op pathology…and was told it was invasive cancer… 2.5 mm…in size… as am HER2 positive…have travelled the chemo and radiotheraphy routes and am currently on herceptin. My experience… until you have surgery… only your pathology can determine the extent of your disease.
Hi, At the age of 52 after my routine mammogram I was found to have a 13mm lump behind my left nipple. This was removed together with four samples of tissue and some of my lymph glands. The glands were clear but the tissue showed three were clear but the fourth was looking dodgy, I had a further op to remove more tissue and all the results of that were clear. I have had 15 sessions of radiotherapy and am now on tamoxifen for the next couple of years followed by another couple of years on something else.
I think that what has happened to me and by the sounds of it what has also happened to you is quite routine, I know this is very unusual to us but to those that have to treat us I think we are quite ‘run of the mill’ and that’s a good thing, we want to be on the receiving end of tried and tested treatments.
Good luck to you, just remember that alot of us on this website have gone through the same as you and there is light at the end of the tunnel. Regards Olwen
