FUZZY BRAIN, ANYONE ELSE ?

Hi everyone,

Brief history, DX May 07 at age 38, WLE, 1 node pos, 6 Fec, 15 Rads, ER pos, 5 years Tamoxifen. Last Rads Feb 08.
I,ve been coasting along for a while doing ok, went back to work April. Recently I seem to be having problems concentrating and cannot multitask anymore. I have to make lists all the time or I forget everything. Yesterday I found a note on my car outside my house from the Police, I had only been driving around for 5 weeks with no car tax. I can,t even remember getting a reminder although I did find it in a drawer. I called the DVLA and they suggested I wrote a letter to my local DVLA to explain why I forget to renew my car tax and may get away with a smaller fine.

I need to go out today for a food shop but I,m scared in case i do it wrong. I have 2 kids 11 and 7 who fight all the time and I cant cope with it, I feel like running away and not coming back.
What is happening to me ? I have menopausal symptoms from time to time could it be that or Tamoxifen? I have even thought that I have dementia or Brain Mets.

Has anyone felt the same and has anyone got any advice about the DVLA ?

Lots of love Andrea xx

Hi Andrea

All I needed was surgery and am now clear for the time being. However, the fuzzy brain affected me too, and I’m sure it does many others. We have so much going on in our heads, that “normal” thought processes and concentration just aren’t possible. I’m sure it will come back given time. At least you have a good excuse which will make most people very understanding!

Re DVLA…yeah I’d just wrote to them and explain.

Years ago my Mum told me about a vitamin called coQ10 which is supposed to help with mental capabilities. It helped here through an intense course at college when she went into adult education in her early 50s (she was also menopausal) and I’ve used it when I’ve been cramming learning. Might help you?

Good luck.

Angie

Nicky xx

Hi everyone again,

Poor you Nicky, I didnt know that men can take Tamoxifen. I have been taking it for 8 months and the symptoms are so much better now, far less hot flushes and not so severe. It may be stress, I,m often like that at the end of the six weeks holidays and both kids started new schools last week also. Getting done for no car tax was just the icing on the cake. I sent them a real sob story letter and gave my GP details to coroborate my story so fingers crossed.
Managed at the shops but took me ages and had to really concentrate. I will look into the coQ10, but i,ll probably forget to take it.
Anyway bye bye for now.
