I live in Glasgow and was diagnosed at the end of October. I’m having a mastectomy on 22nd Jan and will then have chemotherapy. It would be great to come to one of your lunches and join on Facebook too. Are you planning to meet for lunch soon?

I completed treatment for breast cancer a year ago grade 2 2cm tumor 6 x fec and month radium also wle no node involvement .i would like to join face book but can not locate page .

Hi, i live in north Ayrshire and would luv to join the GABBies please on fb. I have just been diagnosed, in fact still dont know exactly what I have yet as still need some results of scans etc. however my first chemo session is scheduled for tues 5th jan so my adventure is about to get very real very soon!

Just BUMPing this up for the benefit of any new ladies (or gents) in West Central Scotland.
We mostly communicate via a ‘Secret’ (invisible) Facebook group, and are beginning to work informally with a few BCNs and local cancer support networks to help people (especially those under 40 who can feel very isolated) contact us. Currently we have just over 60 women in our ‘gang’ ranging from newly dx to several years NED and have a small number of ladies with secondaries. Ages range from 20s to ‘stopped counting’. We chat online and some of us meet up fairly regularly for (very) informal lunches, others meet in twos and threes to support one another through treatment. About ten of our members are doing Glasgow Race for Life 2013. There is a wealth of local experience and wisdom, and we share laughter and tears along the way. We are not perfect, but most people who join find good support frompeople who ‘get’ their world.
If you think you would like to join us, please send me a PM and I will send you details. Please don’t take offence, but now the group is so big, we may ask you a few questions to help both you and us determine that we are the right group for you.
