It has been a long time since I have came on this site and just wanted to pop in and say hello. I am very impressed with the new layout and also the area forum. It is wonderful to see the great support that you are all giving each other.

ages since i used this site i am 2yrs after having masectomny , at the age 43 -went to see ********** at the glasgow royal , as i now feel able to move forward on this path , he has offered me -Ld recon maybe without implant , but am abosolutey peteriffied being an understatement, any friends or family i ve spoke that av had recon surgery have encountered major problems, so this is putting me off then saying everything goes well its all the recovery peroid again and all the scarring then at the end of all that am i gng to be happy with the outcome, or still hate my body i do want it done but its what we have to go through to get there i also think it would help me psychcologically, but still totally terrified would appreciate any advice many thanks in advance.
Hi Michelle, I had mx and immediate LD recon (no implant) at Glasgow Royal in 2011 and it has been anazing - now finally at the last stages of my reconstructive ‘journey’ (due to waiting lists for non-urgent aspects). if you send me a PM with your FaceBook details I can add you to the group where there are several orther ladies treated at Glasgow Royal who would be able to ‘chat’ about this - obviously on here we cannot name names - I think most are very happy with their results.

So sorry to read of your diagnosis. I assume that you are in the Glasgow area as you’ve posted here? Our Facebook group comprises over seventy women of all ages and stages, including several who have had reconstructive surgery of various kinds and at different points during treatment. There are inevitably ‘comings and goings’ as some people move on from our group or decide it isn’t for them after all, but there is a good nucleus of experienced ladies who are happy to help and support each other.
If you want to chat with us the easiest thing is to join out FB group. If you send me a PM with a little bit about yourself and a FB ID I can get you added to the group.

Hi Helen - got your PM, not sure if you got mine? Tried to reply to yours but it says you don’t have PMs enabled (if you go into ‘my profile’ then ‘preferences’ then ‘private messenger’ check if you have a tick in the box to ‘turn on private messages’).

Hi , my name is Helen and I live in (Lenzie) Glasgow and would like to join your group.
