Hello, I have recently, 12 days ago, been diagnosed with breast cancer following MRI, tumour 9mm and not visible on mammogram.
i have a very strong family history, and as I am the only breadwinner in my household had not had the test as we need to move house and I was going to have this done after I had got the new mortgage.
luckily my blood was already waiting for me to give the go ahead and so they are doing that now.
i am obviously very worried about the result.
i now feel very ‘stupid’ that I have waited and am feeling guilty, scared etc.
is there anyone else who has been in a similar position?

I was diagnosed in early Sept with a cancer related genetic condition and have found it really difficult to deal with - more so than my mx surgery a few months ago which was relatively straight forward I felt. I have found it very difficult to get to grips with the ‘what ifs’ and how to get on and live my life while still being sensible about monitoring and risk management. I found an online (American based) support group for my condition and people there said (a bit like when BC was first diagnosed) it does get easier and become clearer and more manageable with time and once you feel you have a good team supporting you.
Please don’t feel silly or guilty - although those are both understandable reactions, along with grief, anger etc to shocking news - what is important now is looking after your self and your health xx
