Genetics appt. A bit confused

I am 6 weeks post surgery, I had my results appointment on Monday and was told I needed chemo (and more surgery, radio, hormone) but not had a date for an oncologist appointment yet. The registrar on Monday said I’d need genetic testing in order to help them decide which chemotherapy and today I got a text saying I have a phone call appt. On 23/5 with the clinical genetics department. Do you think this is a pre appointment or a genetic results appointment? I was a bit overwhelmed on Monday being told I needed every blinking treatment going that I didn’t ask more questions about the genetics. For reference Er+ Her2- 4 lymph node’s affected, DCIS in margins, DC removed, 47 yrs old. I’m anxious to get on with the chemo. Anyone had a genetics appointment at this stage? Or have any ideas?

Hello! I had a genetics appointment over Teams after id had two lots of surgery and before i started my chemo.

I had already been told that I was BRAC positive and had been referred to genetics.

They needed quite a bit of information in terms of dates of birth of family members and medical histories so its worth writing as much as you can down.

As a result of the genetics appointment, my sister was called into screening and i have letter for both of my children when they reach 18 as they are eligible for screening.

Not sure if any of the above helps at all.

Hope it all goes well x

Just spoke to my BCN. She said the phone call is genetics counselling to talk about it all. Didn’t realise they did it without family history of BC but she said it’s cos in young. I’m 47, if she says I’m young I’ll take it :grinning: Anyway that’s reassured me somewhat.
