Help…i think im getting a cold and im on day 8 so just entered my danger period with low immune, can i take cold/flu capsules to help it. Bit worried im going to end up in hospital again. Anything i can do to stop it in its tracks?
Had bloods checked yesterday and all was fine, temp also fine at the moment

Try not to worry. Keep warm and drink lots of fluids and rest. It may not develop. I don’t think that flu cold things work except to squash symptoms so people can continue as normal. I was advised not to take anything so temp could be monitored accurately. If anything grim is going to happen then these remedies might mask it with you ending up with more of a problem. I note the ‘again’ have you had a bad time? Rest is the key though. If you are still working it might be worth while taking a few days off

Thanks Sarah. Good advice, wont take anything and will keep an eye on my temp. Am drinking lots and am cozied up with the fire on. Waiting for hubby to come home to get more wood from the shed (would get myself but BIG spiders live in there ewww)
Yes i had a few complications with first chemo and had to spend some time in hospital. White blood cells dropped to zero and then got an infection in my picc line which was removed. For second chemo i had filgrastim injections for 5 days to hopefully stop white blood cells dropping. Am really hoping to stay out of hospital this time!
