Getting a cold

I have just had my 4th FEC out of 6. I went to visit a relative last week and her daughter was there and full of flu. I left the room and went outside as I was at the 7-10 day stage after chemo when u are supposed to be at your most risk from infection. Woke up this morning with a sore throat and definate signs of a cold starting, should i be worried at all ?? can anyone help x

Kar235 if you feel unwell go to your GP or call your breast cancer nurse.  I tended to drink a lot of stilled water with lemon especially if I was in the company of people who were coughing.  If you feel at all unwell speak to medical staff who will give you treatment if you need it.

Regards

keep an eye on your temperature. If it goes up to 37.9 or over, ring the emergency number they gave you. I hope you will be ok though.

Hi Kara

you are told to call the emeregcy line or GP even if you do not have a temperature. I would contact them to ensure you have the correct course of action before it gets to grips

I wish you well and hope it does not progress to flu xx Donna

Thanks so much for the advice. Just taken temp and it’s 37.2. Been getting the honey and lemon down me so hopefully be ok by tomorrow. Feel ok apart from sore throat and runny nose. Let’s hope I’ve nipped it in the bud. Thanks again xxx
