Jeez am shocked to read Gingerbud/Tina passed away. I haven’t been on here for a while but we swapped a few emails and she was one cool lady. Does anyone know what happened, was it quick, was she at home?
HI Frances, I am just back from a long weekend. Saw your post. Sorry that you have just read about Tina/Gingerbud.
Do you know ( you may have already done so) that there is a section on the long column on the left that has “In Memory” section? Click on that and you will see a whole pargraph about her. Sorry I do not remeber all the details but perhaps this section will give you some answers. Val
Hi if you look on the triple neg site her oh left a message she had bad pain on the day she was going to disney land with dan then over the weekend she got worse and fluid built up on her heart and then passed away that it the small version ill try try post so sad tina was our friend and a lovely girl x
Ah I found it. Bloody hell. She was ace, ‘our tina’, we swapped lots of stories about drugs and treatment options for triple negs. I liked her a lot, she really seemed to give a shit about others and even when she was having the most horrid of times it was always obvious that she still had a smile on her face and hope in her heart. I am glad for her that it was so quick in a way, I don’t think any of us would want to be ill and in pain for ages and ages. Although it’s desperately sad for her husband and her little boy, what a huge legacy she leaves on here, she will be very much missed by everyone who uses these forums regularly.
This is the second death I have heard of in as many weeks. If any of you knew or heard of Ellie Jeffery, she too passed away almost 2 weeks ago aged just 29. I met her through her blog, we both wrote one and stumbled across each other via cyberspace. Being both young and with similar situations (triple neg, fast recurrences etc) we bonded quickly and she came to mean a lot to me. If anyone wants to read her amazing blog it’s www.writtenoff.net. Sadly she was just 2 weeks away from her wedding to Tom, whom she adored.
Lots of love to you all xx
Aww I don’t think I knew her so hard now to kp up I’m with everyone so sad yes Tina was a great brave lady and a special friend we miss her terribly on the tn thread hugs laura xx
Thank you Frances for letting us know about Ellie - I didn’t know her personally but follow her well written and insightful blog. I read her partner’s speech and left a large lump in my throat.
Its so sad when two beautiful young women are taken far to early. It’s bloody unfair but
the nature of this horrendous beast.

Hi just wanted to say that I also used to read Ellie’s Blog and I read yours too Frances (also have lung mets and I write a blog) was so hard reading about Ellie and Tina, both so young just not fair and breaks my heart. I cried all weekend and its taken me ages to get back on the fighting positive again, tends to knock you for six when you read about others passing away, but like steris has said it is the nature of this most terrible of disease.
Two brightest of lights are on in Heaven, shine on Ellie and Tina.
Love and light to all
