I’ve had a lump since December 25, by the time I got to my local breast clinic in February the lump pad grown very large and super painful, at the appointment they did an ultrasound, drainage and core biopsy. The core biopsy they said was granular mastitis something rare but nothing to worry about and I was put on a course of steroids for nine weeks to get rid of it. Through the nine weeks of being on the steroids the inflammation went down but there was still a lump as soon as I tapered off the steroids and finished them the lump came straight back just as big as it was before, slightly bigger than a golf ball. I made another appointment to be seen where they offered me a scan and for it to be drained. The feeling in the room just wasn’t nice. It was off. She was questioning my past appointments as my core biopsy wasn’t done with an ultrasound and she seemed a bit unsure on that, the ultrasound tech and the assistant kept exchanging looks. She drained the fluid and it was bloody so she sent it off for testing which she wasn’t going to do at first, but then she saw it and then decided to send it off. She managed to drain it fully but there is still a lump so now I’m unsure and I think that first diagnosis was wrong and now I’m scared it could actually be something a bit more sinister. I have also experienced some chest pain on the side that the lump is so I’m getting worried about that too. Sorry there’s not really any questions just a bit of a brain dump. But if anyone has any similar experiences, I’d love to hear.
That sounds unpleasant. It’s possible to have 2 things coexisting and one to mask the other so that’s maybe what’s happening here? The other 2 people passing looks might just because they don’t like working with her or questioning her bedside manner as it was clearly making you anxious.
Either way it sounds like they’re now being thorough and you will get answers soon. Any indication of when the results will be back?
Is this NHS in February? Did you get the actual report of the first biopsie? If not, ask for it. “The feeling in the room just wasn’t nice. It was off” What do you mean by that? Were they not treating you nice or do you think it was their reaction to what they saw on the US? If Chest pain , call 999 or go to A&E if you can sometimes it’s faster then waiting for an ambulance. About the lump I would go for a second opinion if I were you.

It was done Friday so I think it’s anywhere up to 2 weeks until I found out x
Hi! Yes NHS, I didn’t get the actual report but this is a good point! Honestly I think the assistant was just a bit unhappy but the US tech started off okay and then went a little somber. Thank you I have been before to A&E but told it was anxiety and the ecg was all fine, it’s more of a chest bone pain if this makes sense?
