i know you probably don’t want to hear this but my hairdresser advised me to keep my hair short (no longer than an inch) and keep having it cut until the curls go away…which they will!!
i know EXACTLY what you mean! i look so o o stupid. So stupid in fact that 9months on from losing the hair i’m still wearing the wig (wonder if that’s some kind of record! )
I don’t have an answer for you yet but today i’ve put an appointment on with my oldest, favourite hairdresser for next Sat, i’m hoping for some advice / improvement / suggestions, anything to stop me hating it so much. If he comes up with any pearls of wisdom i’ll be sure to share them with you.
Can’t tell you how silly i look! but then again i guess you believe me.
I know the feeling and im still wearing my wig too after 9 months mine is curly and frizzy looking but it is growing so im hoping the longer it gets the weight of it will pull it starighter otherwise the straighteners are coming out of mothballs as soon as its long enough to use them ha ha x
My hairdresser recommended Paul Mitchell Straight Works gel which I found absolutely brilliant. I looked like I had a short 70s Afro perm every time I washed my hair. It took 9 months for the curl to go, my hairdresser used to finish it off with hair straighteners. I bought a set but they were so hot they terrified me, hence using the Paul Mitchell stuff.
my hair is the same - it was coming through nice and thick and straight and then suddenly instead of getting longer it just gets curlier and curlier - and short curls are not a good look and not at all flatering. I have given up on gels, wax and mouse and they make it even more curly - so I will have to live with it and hopefully it will go back to being straight in the next few months. At least I have hair so I don’t want to moan too much…
Thanks for all your replies…it is good to know that it isn’t just me with the nightmare hair!
Went to see my hairdresser this morning. She is going to give my hair a light trim and try to put some shape back into it, so a bit excited about that!
Found a photo of me bald yesterday, and completely freaked myself out…so glad to have hair, but at the same time, wishing still had my old hair (especially seeing all the women in the salon with such lovely hair!)
