Going crazy

Hi guys,

So last year went to docs with with a lump that was abnormal shape, two GP appointments and six week later I was referred to urgent breast clinic had a scan and had cysts, nothing of concern, this year same time again, found a hard ball shaped lump, one of the veins has become very enlarged and you can see this through the skin, went to docs last week and she said she found a second lump with thickening around, she seemed very concerned about it, the skin around the nipple seems to be constantly similar to orange pee and the hair follicles are enlarged, she tried to get an appointment there and then but couldn’t so said I’ll hear in two weeks if not by this week call her, Monday morning got a text from GP asking to go in to collect paper work which I didn’t have to do last year, I was shocked to read the letter states you’ve been fast tracked to have tests to consider the possibility of cancer and to bring someone with me, within three days I’ve had sever ache in my arm put and the side of my breast, she said to call if symptoms worsen so I rang today couldn’t get an appointment receptionist sent a task to the doctor bearing in my mind I hardly slept as the pain was so intense, sharp pains and dull ache, she said to go get some evening primrose oil, band to take 400mg of inroprufen, I would be interested to know if anyone had the same symptoms and had cancer and had same and didn’t, I’m 29 not that age make sure a difference 2 young children, ect going crazy.
My appointment is next Friday. I feel like she has already made her mind up that she thinks it’s cancer, she didn’t say very much at the appointment I think because I had both my children.

Thank you xxxxx

Jess

Hello and welcome to the forum but sorry that you are having to go through this.

It is very good that your Doctor is being proactive and sending you to have this checked out.  The breast clinic team are the experts but keep in mind that they do not just deal with breast cancer there are other benign breast conditions that it can be but it is important that any breast change is checked and the NICE guidelines are that if you are referred to them regardless of what it is you are seen within two weeks from receipt of referral.

Let us know how you get on if you want to, please keep away from googling generally as there is a lot of out of date and misinformation out there which will only increase your anxiety levels.

Sending you hugs

Helena xx

It’s scary for sure but it is important to follow up with tests. I survived with the help of my family doctor, and my oncologist and of course my surgeon.
