Very good news which I hope will travel to the UK. We have been trying to get Lapatanib for my daughter for the last couple of years with no success. We have been prepared to pay for the treatment. Fingers crossed and thanks for the good news…

I’m on lapatinib for secondaries, not primary BC xx
when I asked about it i was told you can get it in certain circumstances from the special drug fund, but at the time i asked they felt my treatment had worked and it wasnt needed so its worth asking and even fighting for. The prof also told me that more time was needed to prove its worth so im sure it will come in the not to distant future.
My daughter has secondaries…to the brain…so you can imagine that we are desperate for any new drugs that could help. She had a hickman line put in which became infected and then she got septicaemia and has once again spent weeks in hospitals. The hickman line has been taken out so Lapatinib might work well for her.
