Hi all, hope you are all well. Just got my date for starting my chemotherapy. The 12th of May. I just want to start my journey.I feel I’ve been waiting awhile for my date.

Hi @ann2, thank you so much for your well wishes.

Unfortunately I received the news yesterday that my cancer has returned locally already just over four months since my lumpectomy, probably due to my wait exceeding the recommended time frame for chemo and my aggressive subtype (TNBC), so we now have a new challenge on our hands. Please don’t let this scare you if you had a long wait as my recurrence will be due to many factors specific to my situation and won’t necessarily be the same for you.

In terms of the chemo, I felt very rough I’d say for the whole of Saturday and Sunday with fatigue being the worst symptom and feeling a bit nauseous the second (kind of like a really bad white wine hangover), then perked up quite dramatically on Monday with a steady rise into feeling quite normal today. :smiley: Your side effects will depend on your course treatment so could wildly differ, but I hope it treats you as kindly as can be expected.
