Granocyte injectionss side effects

Hiya all,

Kayleigh, i absolutely hated granocyte but it really does bring your bloods up to normal levels and beyond so its worth it. I also hated taxotere but i got through it. I hated every single side effect on it. As Daisy said hot water bottle/microwave pads on your muscles help.

All i can say is stick it out, and just keep counting the days and they will soon be finished. I am now waiting to start rads.

Barbara, i deffo think i am going to swimming commando head at least one day, will let you know.

Lisa, hope you are well somewhere there.

Daisy, burping wasnt one i had. Did yu get the times on Sunday?
Apparently they had a cd/dvd free of specials? I forgot all about it as usual.

Anyway, i am totally and utterly knackered. Work is too hard!!!

Linda

Hello ladies…

Kayleigh…welcome to our litlle thread…I too had 3x FEC and 3 Tax. the granocyte injections kept my cell count in normal levels…As for the Tax…you will get through it…I hated it the SE’s were the worse…The pain… I was perscribed oramorph (morphine) did the trick for me. be careful with it…Got really bad runs also in second week…no joke had to stay in just so I could make a mad dash to the loo…( 1 day didn’t make it!!!) just stood there and laughed thank god no one else in the house…though dog did look strangely at me…

Daisy…have a good Morrissey concert… ooohhh the image of you in the disabled section looking like a bandit LOL

Linda…you go girlie

anyway all have a good time amd loads of internet hugs

Hi girls

Well we have all been very quiet havent we? I have been working and it really wears me out so although i have been on here, have been a bit less vocal. It was a half day today so i am quite bright and chirpy. I have packed my suitcase, just need to pack shoes, toileteries etc and ready to go tomorrow.

Anyway, unless i get internet withdrawal and have to go to a cafe to post, i wont see you for a week so all keep well, keep away from flu and see you on here soon.

Linda

Hi all

Morrissey was brilliant! I really enjoyed myself. Next gig is The Specials again in Nov, then Depeche Mode in Dec.

I had my check up with the Onc today, all is well. Another thorough groping…I mean examination, and I was declared fighting fit. So, onto the tattoos next Tuesday.

You lot got your chillows yet?

Not sure if we will get away for a few days on our own as I won’t get my zapping dates until next week, plus I am not sure about leaving my 18 yr old son in charge of my 15 yr old daughter. They don’t exactly get on that well. Or I get m-in-law down, but that means hubby has a hr drive to get her, then same again to drop her off.

Going back to watch darts now…happy hol’s for those of you not having to do the school run!

Lisa

So sorry to hear you have been through a crap time, I don’t think there is anything I can say that will put a smile back on your face!

Just one more to go and trust me, the feeling of walking out of the chemo unit for the last time will put you back on top of the world.

I am now 2 weeks on from the last chemo and have now ‘closed’ that part of my life and do not think about it.

Try your very best to think positive and put it down to bad luck as things are going to get so much better, but it takes time.

Keep smiling and love your chillow!!

Daisy xxxxxxxx

Thanks Daisy I needed that very emotional at mo xxxxx

Hello gels,

Back from Isle of Wight Sorry you have had such a crap time Lisa, and yes i have been told my lymphoedema could get worse with rads - i am going to pay and have Manual lymphatic drainage weekly to counteract the effects. This costs around 50 quid an hour so not cheap but worth it to keep it at bay. Have a word with your lympho clinic and see if they can put u in touch with someone. If you cant afford it, ask them to show you how to do simple lymphatic drainage or yutube it so u can help yourself.

Hubby, kids and i had a good time, weather wasnt great but lets face it, this hasnt been my year so wasnt expecting miracles. Was a welcome break from the ‘crap’ back on treadmill this week, ct scan on tuesday (for rads) and rads start thursday for five weeks. Have the newspapers been scaring the sh-- out of you with all this swine flu ? I keep thinking i have to travel on the tube everyday to hospital for five weeks!!!

Glad you had a good time at concert Daisy, now you should try to get a w/e or something away before you get zapped. Doesnt it feel good now chemo is a memory!!!

All the best
Linda

Morning all

Haven’t really paid much attention to the swine flu, I think if you are going to get it, then you are! I am being sensible and avoiding ‘kiddie’ areas and shopping later to avoid them. I am also using the anti-bac gel every hour if I am out and about. I also have wipes that I clean cutlery, cups etc with if I eat out.

Lets hope you both get your drainage problems sorted soon, it sounds so yukky.

I have my RADS planning Tuesday too. I start 7-10 days later, so fingers x we will sneak a few days away - minus the kids!!! They can stay with m-in-law. I am sure at 15 & 18 they will love it…NOT!

Off to bingo tonight to win lots of money.

Lisa, keep smiling matey, you are nearly there.

Love daisy xxxxxxxxxx

Hi Ladies feel like I cant cross the finishing line at mo , on more antibiotics got tooth ache think got infection in gum which I dont think I can get sorted until chemo finished so will have to put up with tooth ache …
Need to phone to see if I can still have last chemo on Friday I hope so at least then I can feel I can get every thing else sorted …
Hope rads go well for you all .
Still down but dont feel well still so thats not helping …
Lisa

Lisa - hang on in there matey, don’t give in! Try and think…‘this time next month’ etc…I know that’s no consolation when you are feeling pants, but you are so nearly there. You can deal with the crappy things that seem to making a bee line for you! Hand on heart, once you have that last chemo under your belt, you will find a whole new load of strength and power! Just be a little bit more patient and you will get there soon.

I only won at bingo! It should have been £100, but someone else called up. So this morning I booked two tickets for me and my bingo-buddy to see Julian Clary in October. I have seen him before and I think he is so funny. Rude, crude and lewd, but I love him! He is so handsome, if only…

He has written a book called Murder Most Fab, try and loan it from the library, I was in stitches and couldn’t put it down, murder, mystery and errr…intimate relations!

Off tomorrow for my tattoos, will let you know how that goes.

Love and hugs

Daisy xx

Hi all

Agree with Daisy Lisa, one more, might be pants but its the LAST ONE.
You are right about gum infection, u cant visit dentist but corsodyl should help.

I went to bingo while on isle of wight, wanted 1 for 10 pound, 20 pound, 40 pound and 60 pound (well it was just a little one). Story of this year so far.

Will watch out for JC book Daisy.

That’s it Lisa! Onwards and upwards matey! Go to the Look Good thingy and bag yourself lots of freebies. I had a makeover once at one of the counters at Boots. I looked like Jordan, orange and had so much slap on my face, boy did I look like a tranny! So, never did that again.

I saw Alan Carr 2 years ago and he told a joke about the orange Boots ladies. I can’t repeat all of it on here or the MODS will ban me, but it had something to do with ‘did their Dad’s errr…sh*g a Wotsit’? He was really funny and my friend and I were crying.

Out of curiosity, where do we all live? I am in Chelmsford, Costa Del Essex.

Off later to get my tattoos, not having a CT scan. I think they will stand me at one end of the room and throw an inked dart at my breast, a bit like the knife throwers! Let’s hope their aim is good! Maybe I should draw a mini dartboard on my boob.

Have a good day everyone and will post again tomorrow.

Daisy xxxxxxxxxx

Hi Girls,

I am in Loughton, Costa del Essex too but in the West. You should try and get on a LGFB if you havent been on one Daisy. It’s worth it for the freebies. Big bag of makeup and cleansers, all good brand names. They do one at Barts which is the one i went to and they probably do your end of Essex. They have a website, check it, ring and they will ring yu back with your booking. All makeup experts so its subtle rather than in your face, lots of tips etc…

I have two tiny blue tattoos, look like drunk freckles but they are not visible unless your boobs are popping out your top. Going up to London again today for another CT scan to line me up. After thursday will be every day so will cost a small fortune over next few weeks. I’m not poor enough to claim anything.

When i was taken ill in March with low neutrophils, we were at centerparcs in Suffolk so was taken to West Suffolk hospital. Their oncology ward had beautiful brand spanking new rooms for each patient. If i had been taken ill at home, Would have been in a huge ward with all ages and possibly sexes. Just luck of draw where you live i think.

Dont know what to do with rest of day, boys are sitting watching tv, should encourage them to get up and go out on their bikes but cant be arsed. Mind you looks a bit dark outside.

Catch u tomorrow.
Linda
