Granulous Mastitis
Granulous Mastitis I have had this condition now for over 7 months and despite so many aspirations,I have lost count, two operations, antibiotics and steroids, I still have the infection. The infection has already resulted in tissue loss of about a third of my breast. Although my consultant is fantastic, he has never seen this condition before and neither have the specialist breast care nurses. Has anybody experienced it?, recovered from it?.I need to know that there is light at the end of the tunnel

Breast Cancer Care
sounds really grim sorry but I haven’t had it but I can understand why you feel so alone. if it is as rare as it is it also makes it worse as you can’t find anyone to compare with. I have a similar problem with my rare kind of breast cancer.
I don’t like the sound of the steroids - I had steroid cream for my wound and a side effect of it is to make you more likely to get an infection. Needless to say that is what I got. I also had loads of antibiotics. eventually I had this 1 cm hole made in the side of my breast which was packed daily with gel tape for about one month. That eventually cured it but my breast was very hard for ages and ages.
It doesn’t look as bad now though I also lost about a quarter of my breast. You can see the picture in my profile. That’s how it looked about two years ago
