Gratitude jar

Hi all. I have not posted for a while,  but have been ‘lurking’. I am feeling a lot stronger since my ‘melt down’ week.  I have signed up for a macmillan course. But I can feel the anexity creeping in as I have just had an appointment through for my first annual mamogramme since diagnosis.

Anyway,  I made myself a gratitude jar today, which someone recommended to me. Basically it is a kilner jar with 365 bits of paper in it. The aim is every night you look back at your day and think of something that happened that you are really grateful for. After a year you can read back through them, and they are there as a record. I have definitely been dwelling on the negatives last year rather than the positives, so I am hoping it will help me appreciate things a bit more.

Hi Eggster, what a lovely idea. Anything that helps us ladies get through this journey is worth a whirl, but I really like the sound of this one. Hopefully 2018 will see us all having our little moments of triumph. Onwards and upwards, my dear. ?

Hello Eggster,

Its such a fab idea…love it!!

Good to hear that you are coming back after your melt down.

You are not alone…for every blood test, mammogram, ultrasound, pain or niggle,  my anxiety rockets, always thinking of the worse…so I learnt and try my best to do breathing to gain calmness.

Am usually at the thread “Need Hug or a Kick up the Backside” under Coping with fear and anxiety. Do join us if you need to rant, vent, share…there’s a lot of support from the ladies there.

Good luck with your appointment.

Take care, Belle xxx
