Great book to read.

I am reading this on my Kindle at the moment - it is really helpful for all the horrid ‘after feelings’.

The Cancer Survivor’s Companion: Practical Ways to Cope with Your Feelings After Cancer
by Dr. Frances Goodhart and Lucy Atkins

Best wishes to all,

Miscally

Hi Miscally
Thanks for putting this on the forums, I don’t think I can wait for Amazon pre-order, I will hunt out my Daily Mail clipping and pay full price for it.

OH gave me a Kindle for my 50th recently - I will look out for this. Although it’s nearly 5 years since my diagnosis, I find from time to time it helps to revisit stuff like this. There is always that odd time when things are getting you down and you feel you are being dragged backwards again.

Hi Cherub

5 years … I was given all clear 48 hours ago and am “beating myself up” already about not feeling like celebrating!

Having read quite a few posts on here tonight it seems it’s an all to familiar feeling once treatment has finished. Everyone happy for me and think I am back to normal, whatever normal is, don’t think i’ll ever be “normal” again, it will take time and will always be with us

Thanks for this - just what I needed. Have downloaded it onto my PC from Amazon. I’ve been saying I feel I’ve been cast adrift in a boat with no oars since treatment finished, so the boat analogy strikes a real chord.

Curlylol, I’m not even sure what “normal” is and was totally baffled by the concept even before I had BC :-))

Hi

Got the book from The Book Depository online, no p&p, delivered within 48 hours and half the price of that quoted by The Daily Mail, well presented, easy to read, recommended by health professionals, should be recommended in clinics, brilliant purchase, thanks for recommendation miscally
