Great Wigs & Cost

Not sure if this is the right place to post, but I had my 5th Chemo out of 6 yesterday, One of things I struggled with was a wig that looked real, not good with the scarves etc, the wig I first got was really nice but the parting looked really false, but then I found an on line shop called

Contrast Wig Studio UK

I rang Sue who owns it and she spent ages on the phone with me about all the different types of wigs and hairline/partings I was amazed at all the choice, she also said she was happy to send various colour wigs through the post so I could try on and find most suitable colour and then send back the ones I had not chosen, she also said I could send in a photo and she would help me to find the best colour style etc, it was soooooo helpful.

I ordered my 1st wig last week and it was lovely and the parting was amazing you could change it to how you wanted and looked so real I was amazed, just bout my second wig £38.61 arrived today love it again amazing parting line so natural.

Sue makes all the wigs herself, and even though I lived in Manchester and she is based in Bristol it was not a problem, as mentioned she will send you a variety of wigs to try on through post, I never normally do write ups on items I have bought, but Sue is such a good find and really helped me in many ways I want to share with as many people who could benifit as possible, if you want to know anything about wigs give her a call you will not be sorry x

Never come on here much nowadays as I’m 2 years down the line, but just popped on and spotted your post. I thought “Oh, I’ll recommend who I used” - but it was this company!

I agree completely with you on Sue and her products, they are brilliant. I tried lots of other places (don’t go near the Asian ones on ebay!), but … ladies … I promise you, please don’t go anywhere else. They are brilliant value for money and excellent quality. I got so many compliments, and am tempted to get another one even though my own hair is back. It was much nicer than this curly mass!

Good luck, and many good ‘hair’ days! xJacqx

so glad you are well after treatment, but thats what I thought when buying wigs, its not a short term investment as I will wear them even when my hair comes back as they look sooooo good and such trendy styles everyone always compliments me on how healthy and shiny my hair looks ;)I now have a blond, brown and burgendy wig when I go out I used to just match clothes, shoes and bag, now its uuummm which wig do I fancy then match my clothes shoes and bag haaa haa, plus I have been told it takes ages for your hair to grow back evenly, I can not go out without a fringe so I am looking for at least 3 inches of hair growth before losing the wigs, guessing on what others say that could take up to 8 months or more after treatment ends. Quite a few of my friends have daughters 17 to 20 age groups and they all buy wigs to go out now they are telling me its the new trendy thing for going out, even though they have great hair, they say its all about colours and being able to change each week lol

To be honest, I only stopped wearing my wig just after my daughter’s wedding at the end of this July (wanted a smooth head for the photos!) - so I wore one for approx 18 months. Could have gone without much sooner, but I just hate short hair on me (big, chubby face!). Everybody was surprised that I had managed to hide so much hair underneath. They are quick and easy though, I found it was the best thing about all this shenanigans(apart from staying alive, of course!). xJacqx

Hi

I used Contrast Wigs too!

My first wig was my NHS one and I was never comfortable with it. It just didn’t behave like real hair.

The second wig I bought off ebay and that made me look like Maggie Thatcher!

Then I came across Contrast Wigs online, took a chance and was absolutely delighted with it. The difference was unbelievable. I just loved that wig and so many people asked me where I’d had my highlights done. I’m 2 years out from finishing chemo and have my hair styled exactly like the wig (which I’ve packed away in the wardrobe just in case…).

Keep well.

Mal

We should be on commission for this place!
