Had WLE and node sampling on left side yesterday - I was last on the list and was starting to worry that the op wouldn’t take place! I had to stay in over night, but I was given a side room which was nice. Couldn’t get any sleep though due to being in a strange room. Now I have to wait til 13th October for the results.
I feel good that the BC has been removed but terrified that it has spread.
I am having terrible night sweats since starting the tamoxifen but not sure if I should try evening oil of primrose or black cohash to help with this.
Anyone got any advice?
Also, can anyone recommend some kind of cushion support to help with discomfort when trying to sleep?
Thanks.
i have a vague recollection that black cohash, or whatever its called, might counteract tamoxifen. Check it out with your oncologist before taking anything. I sympathise with the hot flushes, they are horrid. Keep taking your painkillers, hope the discomfort passes soon, mine was tons better within a week or so.

Black cohosh is contraindicated with ER+ bc. You should check with your medical team before taking any supplement. Good luck! X
Hi
I found I used an old pillow which was really soft at night and put it under my left shoulder to my elbow so that the underarm area which was swollen because of lymph node clearance was lifted off the mattress slightly. If i wanted to sleep lying on my right side then I put it between my breasts so that the left one was supported and also wore crop tops with the secret support as by end of day was glad to remove my bra but needed something to give support at night. Also remember that days 8-10 after surgery were tough days for me so rang my bcn who told me to put a sports bra on, take max dose of my painkillers and lie down for the afternoon. It worked for me as it reduced the swelling so I felt alot more comfortable after.
Hope this helps,
