Hair loss and make up

Hi

I’m new to the forum and really need some advice from people who are going through the same. I’ve lost quite a lot of my hair especially around the front and I find on the days I’m feeling good and put make up on but can’t be bothered with my wig I look ridiculous because my scalp in parts is so white and I have this line of foundation around my face as it can’t be blended in to my hair line? Any tips would be very much appreciated x

Sorry you’ve not had a reply yet . I didn’t have chemo myself , @Shi   can you help with this ?

Best of luck with your treatment . You could maybe join one of the chemo monthly threads if you’d like some support from people at the same stage of chemo ?

A hat. I hated a wig. It looked really good but the feeling I got when I took it off and saw my true self wasn’t one I liked so I avoided wearing them preferring instead to just use hats. I had a cute straw hat I would wear and I cold capped so I retained about 10% of my hair. It was mostly in the back so I’d just try to keep it around my face and neck as much as possible. I can’t say it looked great but it also didn’t draw attention so I could go out as usual without stares.

Also you may have to play around with makeup a little right now. Like maybe not a foundation? Just some spot correction and then use color to brighten? I did that a lot because one of the benefits of chemo is that my skin actually looked fairly decent as far as lines and wrinkles. So I’d just add blush and lipstick and my hat and look passable enough so that no one suspected.

Try a tinted moisturiser , I haven’t started chemotherapy yet , but I presently use Clinique iD

BB GEL Moisturiser it’s purple in colour , when blending into skin it brings out your natural skin tone,  I am hoping this works for me when on treatment but there is cheaper products out there with BB gel in if you want to try them.
