I was diagnosed in 2020 and went through surgery, node clearance, chemo & radio. Since then my hair has grown back slowly but as I was ER+ I’m in Anastrozole for another 5years which has fast tracked me into menopause.
I used to have amazingly thick curly hair but it’s now fine, thinning curly hair.
Can anyone recommend a product to help thicken up my hair whether shampoo or tablets. I’m always worried what I can or cannot take due to oestrogen sensitivity.
Thanks in advance.

Hi, I don’t have the answer, however I can share what I have tried as I have fine hair which has been falling out over the last year. I tried Plantur 39 shampoo and conditioner, which didn’t have any effect despite it having good reviews. I also tried using a scalp massager and Rosemary Essential Oil. I probably gave up on that too early as Rosemary is supposed to be a really tonic for the hair. I wash my hair carefully with no vigorous rubbing of the scalp, I use detanglers to comb it and again if I am going to style it, I use the brush gently, no pulling! My hair seems to be trying to grow back but I still have very thin patches on the top of my head and fringe area. I use a John Frieda Profiller shampoo and conditioner which does seem to help make my hair look thicker.
I wish I could offer a fail safe method, but we are all different and what works for one person might not for another. I am going to give the Rosemary and massager another shot. Like you I am careful about what I put on my skin, definitely no parabens! So the more natural a product the better for me. I think it is best to check with the BCN beforehand though, in case there are any contraindications. Good luck, I’m sure your hair will be just as luscious when it grows back. You’ve successfully passed the hardest parts of the journey so this will be a piece of cake for you to overcome. Stay positive, try not to stress about it, be proud of your achievements and your body is a great healer so let nature do it’s thing, with a little help from you
Hi YV4820
Apart from all the products out there that promise miracles, don’t forget the old-fashioned ‘tried and tested’ approach of (once you have some regrowth) having it trimmed regularly. It promotes hair growth and makes what you have look better
