Hair Loss - How long from All There to All Gone?

Hair Loss - How long from All There to All Gone?

Hair Loss - How long from All There to All Gone? I am day 14 after my first FEC. Yesterday, on cue, my hair began to come out - a few in the morning, an increasing number last night.

Can anyone give me some idea how long it might take before it’s all gone. I do have very thick hair.

But I am a positive person and the biggest plus I am going to take from this is that those horrible little chin hairs (come on girls, we all have 'em) yielded easily to the tweezers yesterday so I am hopeful that I have seen the back of those for a few months

I guess this is an appropriate time to say “chin up” to everyone in the same situation

hair Hi Sharon,
My hair took approx 2 weeks to come out, like yours it is very thick. Actually I had to have it shaved to prevent me looking like the creature from the Blue Lagoon. You know, long straggly bits interspersed with bald patches.
However, and this really annoyed me I still had to shave my legs! What an injustice.Am overdue my second FEC now because of a tooth abcess but am going tomorrow and am optimistic that maybe the leg hair will do the honourable thing this time! Watch this space for an update!

Hi Sharon,
cant help as only had my first FEC last Wednesday! So still waiting to see what happens! Before I had my FEC last week to make myself feel better I got the Veet going on my facial bits, one plus I thought was not to have to do this again! Knowing my luck though I’ll be a bearded baldy woman!

Like you Im also going to try and squeeze out every little bit of positive from this business - I have very thick, wavy hair that is greying far too quickly, have spent the last 10 years dying it and trying to straighten it! This afternoon I will buy a sleek dark wig which wont go frizzy in the rain and will not need dying every six week!

Hair Loss Hi Sharon

I had 6 FEC starting in October last year, and like you had very thick and long hair. Mine started coming out after the 2 week period, and it got so annoying that after about a week I got hubby to give me a grade 2 on the old razor, believe me it was a relief after all the moulting!!

I lost all my body hair, apart from the leg hair, how unfair is that!

However, I am now the owner of short brown hair ( it was auburn before) and it looks like it is going to be wavy again, which I love.

Before you know it you’ll be plucking and shaving again!!

I am almost at the hat and scarf ditching stage, but feel the cold now.

Best wishes to you all
love Deborah.

Still going! I started chemo end Feb, have had 4 x FEC and 1 Taxotere so far. I started losing hair on cue after 2 weeks, but persisted in using the cold cap for 4 treatments. Each day I wake up to a pillow covered in hair, but I still have hair! It is thin, and I use a bandana now, but when I suggested shaving the rest off my husband was horrified. It may be thin but I do still have hair, and he likes seeing it poking out! I have given up on the cold cap now so it probably won’t last much longer, but my hair has hung on for 3 months which I wasn’t expecting.
