Has anyone had a similar experience? I have just received cycle four of docetaxel today. My hair fell out completely on EC chemotherapy and I had been mentally prepared to be bald for all eight cycles.
But it has been growing for the last nine weeks whilst I’ve been on docetaxel and then is suddenly falling out again. It is noticeably thinner after one bout of shedding today. I thought I had gotten past this and it was finally growing back. Devastated and not prepared for this.
Pretty certain the taxel group of drugs make your new growing hair give up and fall out. You might find the cancer hair care Uk charity pages on issues around chemo and hair helpful.
I lost all my hair overnight on abraxine (nab paxitaxel) after the second session. it did not startto show signs of any re growth till Ì was post chemo week ten. it was like peach fuzz to begin with and three plus weeks on its now going for it. no sign under arms or leg hair regrowing as yet.

Yep!!! After 2 Paclitaxel/carboplatin sessions my hair started to fall out. Ive just finished the 12 weeks and my hair has been consistently growing back (I’ve been shaving it cos it looks silly and still expecting it to fall out with EC) and my brows are coming back too!

Thank you for this. I’m glad it’s growing in for you! Maybe a small sliver lining about the armpit and leg hair… saves having to shave it x
I was so surprised after three cycles and a good inch of growth when it fell out again. I’ve managed to avoid shaving it as of now but I’ve had my last cycle of chemotherapy given and it’s still falling out. I guess I had lulled myself into a false sense of security.
Good luck for the EC and congratulations about the eyebrows! Fingers crossed they stay for you xx
