Hi, just wondering when to expect the hair to start growing back after FEC. I am having my 5th one tomorrow (one more to go yipee!!) I think i can see some bits coming back but am trying not to get too excited, i can’t wait, does radiotherapy affect your hair??
I have heard people saying that brewers yeast helps??

Hi Sarah,
Congrats on almost finishing your chemo, I almost ran into the chemo centre for my last session.
I was on Taxotere and my hair did start to come through, although slowly. I finished on 21st Dec 07 and now have about an inch of hair, it needs to thicken up a bit but I have coloured it with Naturtint and given up wearing my wig. Don’t worry if your hair comes through patchy at first, this is normal.
If you are having rads to your chest & neck area if won’t affect your hair at all.

I went from my festas stage to ELVIS impersonator within 4 months …Hair has come back alot thicker and curly !!! But the biggest thrill was to get my eyebrows back…

My hair started growing back just after 5th FEC. I lost it again after the 6th i.e final FEC early January. I no longer wear my wig since starting my radiotherapy on 8 April 08. It feels so good to have my hair again…All the best!!
I had 4 x fec which finished in mid February - then had 20 rads sessions-by the end of the 4 weeks of rads I had a fewmm of hair - I started chemo again on 2nd April (1 x tax, 1 x fec so far), by which time I had about 1/2 inch all over - and so far it’s hanging on!!! (dreadful shade of grey though!!) -only one more fec to go so I am hoping I don;t lose too much this time round!
