I am looking for a non-surgical hair replacement route, but there are so many I don’t really know where to start - has anyone tried any different types?
Many thanks
Hi nalter, i have no idea about this but ‘bumping’ the post & hopefully someone will come along who can help. x
Thanks so much hjv213!
Nalter1, I have been wearing a non-surgically applied polyurethene hair system for almost a year now, would be happy to discuss if this is one of your options.
Robert
Robert - I find it interesting that a male has commented and I appreciate it! I would love to know about your hair system. Where did you get it done and how do you find it?
Is the material attached to your scalp?
Thanks!
I got mine done at Bloomsbury of London, in Northington Street. I originally found the company as I was very concerned with the nature and ethics of the hair. I was worried about exploitation in the industry and wanted to make sure that the hair I was wearing was legitimately sourced, so after a lot of research, I found the hair harvest procedure that Bloomsbury uses.
The thin layer of polyurethene is attached to the front of my scalp. This allows maximum movement and the most natural appearance. I find my hair piece comfortable, natural and easy to maintain.

Robert this sounds very promising! How do you know that the hair is ethically sourced?
What is the movement like with your hair piece as it is only attached at the front? Thanks!
When I first contacted Bloomsbury I also aired my concerns about how fairly the hair had been sourced. Graham, the managing director, informed me of Bloomsbury of London’s ‘hair harvest’ service. This is a procedure unique to the company, whereby people contact the salon directly and are willing to cut their ponytails off for a personal profit.
This benefits both us, the customer, and Bloomsbury, the seller, as we are all aware of where the hair has come from and the donor receive full profit for their services. There is more information about this on the website - hairharvest.co.uk
