I have now been on letrozole for just over 2 years and my fine hair is getting thinner by the month especially at the front and top. Have tried many different shampoos and using a serum at present . Be interested to know if anyone had any success with any products ?? Hair gummies? Or changing to another drug helped ?
Morning Lottys, So sorry to hear this. I’m on Exemestane, previously on letrozole, and definitely thinning. I was about to post for advise too:slightly_smiling_face:. I have just bought Plantur49 to try but only 2 days ago so obviously too early to say. I have another 7 years to go. After chemo you can expect your hair to come back but the thought of slowly thinning is quite upsetting.
I have been on Letrozole since June 2024. At first hairbrush was full of shedded hair then noticeably finer and thinner. Changed my side parting as it was clearly receding plus the crown was thinning. For the last 3 months I have been applying rosemary oil to the affected parts of my scalp and taking Healthy Hair capsules by Revolution Skin.
I have a “baby” hair regrowth. Time will tell whether this will be sustained but anything is worth a try. I am soon to have a change of drug regime as the Letrozole magic is wearing out which will be Fulvestrant injections and Abemaciclib which will mean the inevitable hair loss not just thinning. I have already purchased a couple of wigs in readiness. We just have to be pragmatic and deal with everything as best we can.
Hi @LottyS @Galaq @magnolia1
Just so u know, if your hair becomes thin on top, u can always buy a hair topper (a hairpiece that clips onto your hair) much easier to wear than a full wig. Hope this helps xxx
Yes thank you for the helpful suggestions. I have just explored the toppers. I will take a closer look. Thanks again
Thanks for this as I didnt wear my wig during chemo as I felt it was too heavy and hot.
Ps. Should be Plantur39 not 49😬
