Hair we come !!

I know this sounds vain with all of our troubles, but my hair is starting to grow back and as I suspected, through many years of hair dyes it will be grey.Dilemma is do I leave it or go back to L’Oreal(cos I am worth it) .It has been suggested that I leave it and go with the flow but at 47 will it make me feel old?

i would definitely leave it for a while im 35 and mine has come back" salt and pepper" and i constantly get told its lovely, i spent an absolute bomb on it before having it coloured brunette, so im going with it for now

Thanks annamarie.

Mine came back grey and I left it at first. People said it looked nice but I felt it didn’t suit my colouring and that I looked old (I am 56) so I have had it dyed and I look like me again. It isn’t as red as it used to be but a lovely strawberry blonde and it has made such a difference to the way I feel. I left it for 6 months after finishing chemo and my oncologist said it was ok to go ahead.
All the best

Mine used to be shoulder length and a (most recently) gold/copper colour. Like you, I had dyed it for so many years I had no idea what the natural colour was.
It has come back so it looks a dark steel grey and I am spiking it up with gel. Ironically, despite the colour, everyone says it makes me look younger!! I have had my first proper cut and I am very happy with it now and won’t be going back to the time and money it took to dying it. I am 49

Good luck

I am 3 months post chemo and now on Herceptin. Mine has also come back steel grey but is still a very short back and sides! I can’t wait to pay my hairdresser a fortune to make me look like me again. Anyone have any idea how long it is likely to take to get enough length to style and colour it? I’m hoping it looks decent by the time I go on holiday in August.

Aaaghhh, I’m so impatient!

Hi I am just 6 months post Rads and 7 months post chemo and I had my hair styled and coloured today!! I feel sooo much more me its unbelievable. My hair is only about a couple of inches long but it had grown back very curly and very very grey, now Ive got rid of the grey its great. I think our self image is important, whether you colour or not it how you feel about you that matters.
