Hand pain and trigger thumb on Anastrozole

Hi,

Has anyone stopped anastrozole due to finger/hand pain and trigger thumb? I’m a hairdresser, so probably the worst side effect I could get. Just wondered how long it takes to feel better after stopping? I stopped just over a week ago. Thanks

I had hand pain but my knees were the worse.  I would bend down and not be able to get back up.  I got told to exercise .  I am very fit not overweight and walked over 5 miles everyday.  Exercise was not my problem.  This tablet crippled me.  I would lay in bed with foot and hand pain so bad I questioned my existence.  I gave up my meds in the end and felt improved within two weeks.  I can still match some problems to menopause I am 50, but without a doubt these things were ruled by anastrazole.  I am now med free and living my best life and can get back up from kneeling without going on all fours like an animal!!  I’ll take my chances.  You just need to be happy with your choice. Many will shame you but for me it was the the best for me.  Good luck x.

It’s interesting you mention hand pain and trigger thumb… I’ve only been taking Letrozole a month but I have this side effect which I’m really worried about. I can put up with a bit of joint aching but the strange weakness in my hands is really concerning me… does anyone E know if it goes away when you stop taking the drug?
