Happy Christmas Breast Cancer Care

This is what I wrote on my Justgiving page back in March:
In January 2008, I was diagnosed with primary Breast Cancer, for which I which I was treated and hoped that it was a just distant nightmare. Unfortunately in December 2011, I was told that the cancer had spread to the bones. I now have incurable cancer. Throughout this journey, I have found a lot of help and comfort from Breast Cancer Care and especially its forum and help line.
As I am fit and mobile, I would like to challenge myself by walking the length of the River Thames from the Thames Barriers all the way to the source in Gloucestershire; 294 km or 184 miles in local currency.
I am looking to raise funds for this great charity and will appreciate every penny that you can spare.
In the spirit of the forum, where people come and go to help and support eachother, I would like to invite everyone to come and join me for 1km, 2 km , one hour, ½ day a full day whatever your stamina can take.
I will do this over 15 Saturdays and Sundays spread across spring and summer, with breaks for treatments/ bad weather and other family and personal commitments.

I am happy to say that today on Christmas Eve , I have raised £2940, which is exactly £10.00 per kilometer. Many of us would be lost without a forum like this one. I know there has been teething problems with this site since the summer, still we need you. So Thank you Breast Cancer Care.
Have a merry Christmas.

Happy Christmas one and all. Take care,

Well done Vercors! That’s an amazing total. Thank you. There are many of us who owe our ‘sanity’ (OH disputes that when I’m giggling away at the Benchland thread!) to the friendship and support on this site, from both profesionals and fellow ‘sufferers’.

Merry Christmas to you too, and I hope your secondaries are kept manageable for a long time to come!

Brilliant Vercors!

Congratulations Vercors! Full of admiration for all you have achieved and hope you had a well deserved rest over Christmas!
