To mark International Women’s Day there’s a programme on Sky Living at 9pm tonight which might be of interest:
Sky Living takes Five
UK satcaster Sky Living has acquired a series of five short films from directors including Demi Moore and Jennifer Aniston that each explore the impact of breast cancer.
Distributed by Sony Pictures Television, Five first aired on US cablenet Lifetime in October 2011. The anthology will now air on Living to mark International Women’s Day on March 8.
Five comprises a series of short films including Charlotte, directed by Moore and starring Jeanne Tripplehorn, about a young girl whose mother dies from the disease. Mia, directed by Aniston, tells the story of a survivor’s two year battle with cancer, beginning with her diagnosis.
Another film, Lilli, directed by singer Alicia Keys and starring Rosario Dawson, sees a fiercely independent woman recruit her sister to help tell their hard-nosed mother she has breast cancer.
Jane Johnson, director of Sky Living, said: “They examine in a hugely compelling way, the very different ways women deal with the difficult diagnosis of breast cancer, and also how it changes their lives and relationships. With such a fantastic calibre of names both in front and behind the camera and such powerful stories, we are sure will resonate with women everywhere.”
Shame it’s at the same time as Live Chat - but could watch on plus 1
