It’s not unusual for the area to feel and look different in the weeks and months after surgery for breast cancer. Scars from surgery can feel lumpy (or have an isolated lump) and it can take up to a while for
everything to settle down to what will eventually be your ‘new normal’. Our information about checking for changes after treatment might be helpful.
Its important to be sure though and your doctor wants to properly assess you. It’s understandable to worry about the radiation but it sounds the benefit of having the bone scan (and hopefully reassuring you) outweighs any risk.
