Initially my breast surgeon told me that if I plan to have kids in the future than DIEP and TRAM weren’t suitable for me. However the plastic surgeon said that he had few ladies who had these types of reconstruction and later changed their minds and had more kids, and they were fine.
I wonder if anyone here have become pregnant after these reconstructions and could share their experience. Were there any problems with the pregnancy due to reconstruction? How did the pregnancy affect reconstruction scars and stomach muscles a whether it is possible to heave a caesarean?

Hi Foxychick
I too asked my ps about children post DIEP op and he too advised me that this would not be a problem, especially if it was a muscle sparing DIEP op. My plastic dressings nurse told me that there are two ex patients of hers that are post DIEP op and are currently trying for babies - I have asked her to keep me posted.
I had my DIEP op 5 weeks ago and my stomach is so tight it feels like I am 9mths pregnant (still fresh in my mind as my little boy is 16mths old!!)
Please keep me posted if you have any updates.
Best of luck.
