Hi I am attempting to set up a facebook group for the February Valentines 2014 but seem to be having to “friend” everyone on facebook to get them into the group and noone seems to be able to find the group until I have friended them help ! does any one have any tips or experience in doing the facebook thing ?
obviously we still will use the forum as well but its nice to have a page we can go to
I have it set as a closed group according to the privacy settings . I am scratching my head tho as to why its not showing up

It’s been a while since I made a Facebook group, but this is a pretty comprehensive article about how to do it effectively. Do you moreso just want a method of communicating outside of this forum? You might want to just check out a group messaging service, there are a couple really good ones out there. One is called Quad and one is called GroupMe, they’re both pretty good for setting up closed communication groups!

Rowan44, Hi, i am from the November Newbies and have a great Facebook group. It is the case that you will need to add everyone initially, we have ours as a closed and private group and it is lovely just be able to post in our own group so our other friends do not see what we are posting. We have posted pictures of our bald heads, handfuls of hair, nails, anything really.
We now have 48 ladies in our group, most of us came from this forum but along the way i have added a few ladies who our members have net during treatment. I also have some October ladies in our group and a December one too. The October ladies have been great as they were ahead of us in treatment so we got advice on side effects from them.
What i also did was as people joined i got them to write a bit about themselves and then i created a file and added these bits to this file so we can all read about each other and get to know each other.I also keep a running list of dates of treatments.
I have found that most of group have now friended each other, some ladies have already met up when they have found they live close to each other and we are in the process of organizing to meet up in November. I was originally going to start my chemo in October so am also part of their group and we are meeting up at a spa hotel in October.
