Has anyone had this treatment, I was recommended it. I have secondary breast cancer in my lungs and undergoing chemo at the mo, but want to do anything that will help me…?
hi dazed
I looked into it! when first dx in nov 07 last year. if i remember rightly it was like a sauna type treatment? its supposed to be good. i got really helpful info about it from Patricia Peat of Canceroptions (look up on website) she charges i think £40 per for 15min but she gave me good advice about this treatment, hyperbariac, cyberknife, gammaknife, mistletoe, carctol etc etc and leaflets about where to get the treatment, well worth the money it saves you trapsing through the internet! she does a lot of research all the time and is up to date with all the latest treatments etc… but i have to say i haven followed up any of it, as i was goin to have it waitin in the background in case my c got worse, which thankfully my latest results yesterday showed the tumours in my lungs are shrinkin and my spine tumour is healing well. only from one zap of raidotherapy to my spine and arimedex to do my lungs - i feel so lucky.
however i do take carctol and vitamin supplements from health creations in bath (dr rosy daniels) and also zeolite, and have acupuncture once or twice a month and reiki every week and try to meditate once or twice a week too. so i believe all that helps !!
but good luck with tryin the hyperthermia treatment - where are you in the country is there a treatment place near? if you do go ahead and have it - let me know how you get on! ![]()

Hi Rachel and Dazed
We always advise our forum members to seek advice from their clinical team before embarking on any alternative treatment. This is so you can be sure that anything you try will not interfere with the treatment you are already having.
All the best
Ann
Hi Rachel
Good to hear from you and it’s great to hear that your tumours are shrinking. I did get this info from Patricia but just wanted to see if anyone had tried it. I’m in Barnet, Herts and apparently there is a clinic called Hightrees in Kent that does it. I will let you know if I go ahead with anything.
Ann, thanks for your advice, I am seeing my consultant in a couple of weeks so will run all this info on complementary therapies by him before undertaking anything, although I don’t have much faith that he will give me any help as they all seem to focus only on what they are doing regarding treatment, instead of looking at things that would make their treatment more effective!
