Hello all, I have looked through the threads re hats.sleep hats etc
and people mention www.headcovers.com the US site
Can anyone tell me the sleep hat name that people are recommending on previous discussions as I cannot seem to find it. Ant tips for nice headwear would be appreciated .
If you click on sleep hats in the list on the left on their home page you will find loads. I had the Lace Night Cap (third one down) and have now lost it! But it was very good.
Hi Cally
I don’t know where you are, but if you’re anywhere near a Maggie’s Centre www.maggiescentres.org I would recommend getting one of their sleep hats. They’re £10 or so, which is cheaper than ordering from headcovers (especially if, like me, you get stung by customs and excise for import duty). I preferred the MC hats because they were slightly more sturdy but very soft.
During the day I had an assortment of hats, most of which I’d found in camping shops and pinched from my teenage daughter - i wore a Playboy one in the house - but not for public consumption!
Good luck

I stumbled across a pretty cap with beads on flickr (a photo-sharing website). It is from Germany and is hand-made. Here is a link for the photo: flickr.com/photos/franziska/250523646/
Unfortunately the website of the woman who makes and sells them is in German. If you need any help, I know German. I haven’t tried them yet as I was diagnosed just a week ago and haven’t had any treatment yet. I’m keeping it in mind, though, should I need chemo and my hair goes. Here is a link for the different caps she makes: anderehaekelmuetzen.de.vu/ She also makes “Untermuetzen” for extra warmth under the cap or for sleeping. They are quite far down the page. You need to scroll down below the first 93 caps, and it is then the second row. There is only one photograph of them. There are various colors and they are made of cotton with something to make it stretchy. The Untermuetzen cost Euro 7 each.
Good luck! Let me know if you need help with the translation.
Me again. If you like turbans then www.patra.com do good silk ones. I have a little fringe I got from headcovers velcroed inside so it looks as if you have sme hair underneath. Fooled my breast nurse the first time she saw it, and they stay on in a high wind.
I had 3 of the Headcovers terry towelling sleep caps - blue and red and they were the most comfortable hats I had. I used to wear them around the house in the daytime as well.
You might like Buffs…they are very comfy, trendy, and great for sleeping in, wearing under hats (I found hats too big with no hair underneath)! and day to day wear. They even wash and dry in no time. You can wear them in different ways too…take a look at
Thanks for all your comments , I will look through them all. At this stage I think I will feel so self conscious I will wear a wig , hat and scarf at the same time.
