I have had 2 surgeries and awaiting my radiotherapy in a few weeks and just started tamoxifen tablets last night. My diagnosis after first surgery was grade 2 invasive duct carcinoma and also high grade dcis so two different types ,my two lymph nodes were clear so overall a positive outlook all things considered. My worry is I’ve never had a ct scan or check of the rest of my body since my diagnosis, I understand this is probably because my nodes were clear and only stage 2 but my worry is I’ve had terrible pain in one side of my pelvis for 3 years now and it gets so bad at night I have ti change positions etc. The pain is constant and sometimes get numbness .I had thought perhaps this is arthritis or sciatica? Obviously I have googled and scared myself that people with breast cancer get spread to the pelvis but given my diagnosis I’m guessing this is unlikely for me ? I’ve asked my oncologist to ask my doc to refer me for test on pelvis , can anyone offer me any info who’s been in a similar position? I’ve got myself paranoid and thinking the worst
Hi there
I was grade 2 12mm… they said it would not be protocol to offer a CT scan due to my diagnosis…I told my oncologist that my anxiety levels were so high due to worry about potential spread…she straightaway agreed to a CT scan … so definitely ask for a scan .
Good luck
I was told I had 2 small nodes on my lungs after my treatment I told my oncologist I was very worried (even though I had been told nodes on the lung were not an uncommon find and most were benign) nevertheless it is something that will not go away once you have been told.
He arranged for me to have a scan within 2 weeks - the nodes had not altered in size it was good news.
I agree speak to your team the last thing we need is more worry.
Lots of good wishes.
