Hi Sherylann, it’s only natural for you to feel alone and frightened, only someone who’s been there themselves knows and understands how you feel. You’ve done the best you can for yourself by going to the doctors. It’s the uncertainty whilst waiting for an appointment then results which plays havoc with our imaginations. Please stay on this site or Macmillan and don’t google! You’ll only get out of date or plain inaccurate information from many other sites and you’ll scare yourself half to death. Remember that the majority of breast problems DO NOT turn out to be breast cancer. Best of luck with your appointment and I sincerely hope you won’t need to join our club, sending you big (((hugs))) Pat xx

Hi Sherylann, sorry to hear you have found yourself in this situation.
As Pat says stick to the sites she mentions and don’t google !. Phone the nurses on this site and talk through what actually happened this morning. They are here to help and even if it sounds a daft question ask it anyway!.
Hopefully you will get your appointment soon. You sound unsure when that will be?. No harm phoning the clinic and asking either. Don’t think you are being a nuisance either as knowing what is going on helps you to be in control of the situation and it is not knowing and waiting for others makes you feel so awful.
This website really helped me . Everyone has a different story too, no two are identical, so remember that. Let us know how things go. Take care , Katy.

Hi Sherylann, you will get an appointment very soon. Its part of the NHS guidelines whenever a GP patient is referred. In the meantime I know its hard, but don’t google stay on here. Use the Helpline above and take each day as it comes. Nobody knows for sure , not even your GP until you get your hospital appointment and they wil talk you through it all. In the past 20 years I have had a few scares and they turned out ok, not breast cancer. I am 58 now and have recently been diagnosed with Invasive Ductal breast cancer. I went through an emotional roller-coaster after the initial diagnosis. I have now had the pesky tumour removed and I am in a much better place. Hold on in there, the waiting is the worse, You will get a lot of help and support along the way. Sending you a big cyber hug Kathy xxx
