Found a lump on my right breast just before xmas. Went to the hospital last Wednesday had a mammogram, ultrasound and biopsies. Had a phonecall today have to go back next Weds for more biopsies just wondered if this is normal.
Real worried about Humphrey as I have named my lump got a really bad feeling about it all.
I noticed your post was unanswered and it is stupid oclock on Boxing Day and I am up. This is otherwise known as the “in limbo” insomnia. I am sorry that you find yourself here and it must be a very worrying time for you.
Waiting and waiting is tuff on your emotions and the one thing I have learnt thus far is that nothing is “normal”. Every hospital and every personal situation seems to be treated differently somehow. I myself am in a very similar situation to yourself though.
Lump, biopsy doc found another lump on right, biopsy - told me the result of these were okay and then called me back for more pics of microcalcifications which require another biopsy of a different type. So I am waiting again.
The whole thing started with first appointment on 3 Dec so that is twenty three days of waiting so far. I did some research and the charter states that the hospitals have 62 days from presenting the problem to your first treatment if needed.
In answer to your question I think it sounds pretty normal and I also read that most biopsy turn out to be benign conditions. (80% I think). Personally, I found it worrying that the same team of people who treat cancer also diagnose it and it took me a while to get my head around the idea that the diagnosis is the first stage that many thankfully to not pass through to the next.
I hope all is well for you and I. Keep updating and let us know. xx
