have to have hysterectomy

oh the joys…ive got through a mastectomy and 25 lymph nodes removed, of which 5 were manky. Ive had 6 months of chemo…and finally finished radiotherapy 2 weeks ago…so just had to take the tamoxifen. Finally got my gp to agree to refer me to be sterilised…saw the gynae doc at the hospital…and hes only gone and found an 8cm cyst on my left ovary. Initially he was just going to remove the cyst and offending ovary and tie the tube on the other side…however saw him on tuesday…my bloods are still clear, but he has said that the levels might not be high enough for the tests to detect. He cant say either way what it is (apart from huge) and doesnt want to take any chances especially after diagnosis of booby yack etc and family history. So thats me booked in for an urgent/critical full hysterectomy sometime in the next 2 weeks…oh the joys. Phoned the hozzie this morning as im a bit twitchy what with the imminent postal strike and nothing being delivered for a week…and they are going to phone me with a date tomorrow as there has to be a bit of a ‘list’ reshuffle to get me in asap. So back to limbo land again…hope its just a cyst and nothing else…cos another year of all this will deffo push me over the edge.
Anyway…enough of my whinging…how are you all, and hope youve all had a good day.

Hi Buttons

good luck hun, you certainly have been through it aint ya. i hope it all goes well and fingers crossed for it just being a cyst.

Phoned the breast care nurse as well to find out if i will switch from tamoxifen to something else post op…and she had a chat with consultant and then phoned me back…so as soon as im up and about and feel up to it, im to go in and get poked and prodded by booby consultant and then hell sort my medication out. Going to twist his arm to put me on something to help my bones out, i know the gp mentioned some sort of pill but cant remember what it is now…never rains lol…got a bet on with hubby though…ive said…fiver i have the op for my 31st lol…
