Booked a place on the Younger Women’s Forum but worried about going alone?

Considering booking a place but not sure?

Every year we receive queries from women, including concerns about coming along to the Forum on their own. Feedback from previous forums has said how helpful it was to talk on the Forums before the event. This thread is a chance for you to say hello and “meet” others attending the Forum. I will check in regularly and if you have any questions do let me know and I will do my best to answer them.

What a great idea, having a specific thread so you feel you ‘know’ the other ladies attending before you get there. I can hilly recommend the forums for anyone thinking of going, the one I went to in Manchester a year after my diagnosis was brilliant. I know a few ladies who are going to thenEdinburgh one so will mention this thread to them.

Hi everyone, i’m Elaine and attending the forum next week. I’m travelling from Livingston by train then planning on getting a taxi from Haymarket to the Holiday Inn so if anyoneone wants to share a taxi, give me a shout. Looking forward to meeting everyone!

Hi Mel, no I haven’t been to anything like this before but think it will be good to be able to share similar experiences!

Anyone else heading to the Edinburgh meeting. I am newly diagnosed and am looking forward to meeting people who are in a similar position.

I’m Alix, I was diagnosed a year ago, had a mastectomy and chemo and am now on Tamoxifen. Looking forward to meeting you all this weekend xx

Hi, I’m Rachel and I’ll be there too. In fact, I’m coming up tomorrow as I’m coming from York. My plan was to do a sight seeing bus tour of Edinburgh before going to the hotel but not sure about that in this weather!! Looking forward to meeting you all.

Hi Elaine…i’m Jackie and going to the forum tomorrow. I also plan to go to Haymarket station and would be happy to share taxi. obviously i’m leaving this till last minute to sort, so chances are you won’t see this post but if you do and would like to share please pm me…

i went to the YWF when it was in glasgow a few years ago… it was fab and have made life long friends… hope you all have a great time…

and if any of you ladies love near edinburgh your welcome to join the EBBies… Edinburgh BC Buddies… we meet up regularly for lunch laughs and drinkies… of if your a west coaster there is a similar group called the GABBies for glasgow and Ayrshire.
