anyone thats having herceptin indefiently, having problems with diarreoa, i did have herceptin started dec 2010 which was my orignal dx but was stopped oct 2011 due to heart problem have been taking beta blockers every since. but in feb 2012 dx with lung mets nodules in the skin and one nodule in chest wall, been on taxol for five months and herceptin as my heart have return to normal which is good but diarreoa have started again where it did stop when my herceptin was stopped oct. anybody that have had this problem how have they manage apart from living on immoduim.

I know its not the same, I was on Herceptin for 12 months only for a primary and I suffered with upset stomach and diarreoa for the whole time. My onc didn’t seemed concerned at the time, maybe you should have a word with your BCN and see if they have any tips. I found certain foods and drinks (coffee and eggs in particular) made it worse so tried to avoid these.

Sorry to hear you are struggling with Herceptin. I am also on herceptin for life or as long as it works. I have been lucky and had no side effect until recently. My heart sca wasnot very goo, so they suspended the treatment. I will find out end of August if they are resuming it.
I agree with Samlee, get. Touch with your BCN, she will be able to afvise.
