head wear

I got a lovely suprise present from my daughter of a beau beau head scarf . It is already tied and the fit is good, lovely aqua colour and wonderfull packaged. I felt that I was opening a very special present. Gift card with I love you Nanna was icing. It lifted my spirts and I breathed a sigh that I have something nice to wear when the time comes.
I have ordered another one and ordering was easy.
Have a look girls and see what you think

Hello Maggie
The scarves certainly look really good and you’re so lucky to have such a caring daughter. I got several hats and scarves from headcovers.com but I must say I might invest in one of the silk ones on your site.

If you haven’t lost your hair yet Maggie you might also have a look at the link below where I describe how to rescue your hair to make fringes etc. Scarves with a little bit of hair peeping out do look very natural - I wear them all the time in the house and when it’s hot. And fringes are so easy to make and it’s no trouble just to pop your fringe under the front of the scarf or hat. Do have a look. All the best.

Maggie
not received anything, so would appreciate you sending it if a whisper would work.

I’d appreciate a whisper too Quine - how’s yer loon?! lol

Hi Maggie

Feel for you! I am at the other end of this saga and trying desperately to pluck up the courage to go commando. But just to say that feisty sister is so right about the fringe. I didn’t rescue any of my own hair but headcovers.com sell them really cheaply. My fringe saved my sanity as wearing turbans and scarves then looked more of a choice than a necessity. And several people commented how lucky I was not to have lost my hair. I do have a really nice wig too but have to admit I have been too lazy to wear it much at all.

Good luck!

Hi
Try H & M if you want to get something quick, they have a great range of scarves and I had a job to decide which to buy, patterned , plain, fringes, little coins, etc. Our store is not a huge one so others might stock even more.
Mind you today you need a rain hat
Lily

glad that your were impressed with this sight. I have a cotton one which is lined and very comfortable. I have ordered 2 more and think they will probally take a week to arrive. I think they are expensive but worth the money considering they will last all summer. wore mine for the first time yesterday as my hair if falling out in handfulls. my friend said I looked great, later my daghter said nice scarf suits you but you look terrible so off to get on some slap to day.
Not sure how this whispering works as I can see it on this thread?
Maggie

I bought some buffs last week. They now do ones that have higher UV protection which are made with coolmax. They’re brill, keep you cool and warm, ie just right.

I did also buy a couple that were old fashioned buffs but have fun designs on them, eg a hippy cow. I love it, makes me chuckle every time I see it

google for buffwear and you’ll find the uk site.

This is the one…

google for

buffwear KUK Power

And you’ll see the fun one I’ve got, I wear the hippy cow when happy and the army cow when I want leaving alone.

I love it.

Guys thought I let you know if you have not found out aready that I have been hit by a customs post office charge of £17 from buying scarfs from the website that I mentioned earlier. I did not have to pay for the one my daughter sent me and ordered two more, which I pleased with but not to be charged custom charge of £17 . My brother who is postie said its luck of the draw if it goes through customs, the first one did not get pulled by customs…not happy as it makes it very expensive scarfs. I hope if anyone did buy from the sight that they did not have this nasty suprise.
Maggie

Hi Ladies
I too bought 3 scarves in tototal one from headcovers which was posted throught the door like any other package, the other 2 from the BeauBeau site, i havnt seen them yet as they were picked up by customs and I have to pay £ 18.90 to claim them! Spoke to customs and they said it was luck of the drawer. I am sure when I get them they willl be worth it, but it has made the experience ‘tackier’ than it should have been. The price of these two scarves has now nearly reached £100.00! Be aware ladies you are paying for shipping one end then paying again this end.
Hope your all ok

Hi Maggie
hope you are well. just wanted to let you know, I finally had a card put through door today from post office to say my scarf is in, taken over 2 weeks, and I have to pay £12.70 customs charge to pick it up!!! hope it will be worth it as been looking forward to getting it.
take care

The customs charges are a real pain. They add the delivery charge onto the value of the goods and if it comes to more than a certain amount (I forget how much, £18 maybe?) then even if it has been declared as a gift it gets the charge. So beware, particularly if you choose the option to pay extra for express delivery. I queried it with the courier firm, and their customer service was excellent - they were pleasant, informative and efficient about checking up and getting back to me and explaining it all. They had a already paid the custom charge on my behalf and they waived it as a goodwill gesture, so I never had the experience of dealing directly with customs.

I found a couple of websites that sell buffs (google buffwear) and they are all about the same price and are here in the UK, also check out motorbike dealers and bike shops as they sell them too.
I googled wigs and there are loads but it depends on how much you want to spend.
A lot of the high street shops have scarves in at the minute, check benetton and sisley (maybe not the best ethical shops) but I know Sisley has some nice satin/silk ones in at the mo as they have stock which is very similar.

Happy shopping
Lisa
