I am gradually finding radiotherapy side effects quite …well…more dificult than I expected. I am half way through 20 treatments, apointments mid morning then having to spend most of rest of day in bed so very fatigued and with severe headaches, of course this could also be Tamoxifen…what fun!
Hi chickamoo
I think RT affects different people in different ways. My first week was difficult but after that I wasn’t too bad but I did have my sessions late afternoon so I wasn’t racing around afterwards.
Tamox can give you headaches. I’m sure you could get something to help you if you ask. I’m taking Aromasin which gave me severe headaches but the doc gave me some tablets which have worked a treat.
Love to you. I hope you soon feel better.

Hi
I finished my 3 weeks rads on 19 March. I found the final week a bit tiring, mainly due to appts being earlier in the day I think. The earlier 2 weeks my appts were late afternoon and I worked full-time with no issues.
I ended up on half-days for week 3 to hopefully avoid getting overly tired & it seemed to work for me.
I haven’t had to take Tamox; so it is probably a combination of rads & pills.
When undergoing rads I haven’t done anything such as housework. My OH does most of the cooking and “learn’t” how the washing machine works; quite pleased with himself as clothes didn’t turn pink!
I have my Onc appt on 15 April but now running out of clothes so I’ll have to dust off the iron this week. No real excuse still a little sore & my nipple is peeling.
Take care with the remainder of your rads; remember you carry on cooking for a couple of weeks so tiredness doesn’t go away as soon as your sessions have finished.
Treat yourself to something nice at the end; it feels a bit odd when you do have your last session; good to have something to look forward to.
Regards
Lynne
