Hi, I was diagnosed with stage 3 on 15th August. Since my first biopsy on 2nd August I have had heartburn on and off. I also have felt really bloated since the biopsy. I’m really hoping it’s stress, I do feel incredibly stressed with this. I guess I’m worried incase it’s something to do with the cancer. My consultant didn’t appear overly concerned but I can’t stop worrying about it. I also feel discomfort in my side and some joint pains. Just wondering if anyone else got weird symptoms that turned out to be stress! Xo
Hi @sam3
Sorry to hear about your diagnosis and yes what you’re experiencing is definitely sounding familiar to me and I have heard others say the same. When you are stressed your body produces more stomach acid which causes heartburn and everything tenses up including your bowel which causes bloating and wind - can cause IBS .
I was aware of aches and twinges almost constantly especially in my breasts and under arms / sides even on the side that didn’t have cancer . All of these miraculously cleared up after surgery . I knew it was largely psychological but knowing it didn’t make it go away .
If you are waiting for more investigations or the results of them that can pile on the anxiety and usually that is the cause because once you’ve found out that something is wrong you become hyper aware and that doesn’t settle down until the problem has been dealt with.
I hope this is helpful xx
Thank you Joanne, this has been helpful. My mind hasn’t stopped. I having a nagging discomfort in upper abdomen on right snd im worried sick incase it’s my liver. I have also had quite a bit of discomfort in my left shoulder and down my arm (cancer is on the left side). Because it’s stage three and in my lymph nodes I’m just terrified incase it has spread further. I’m trying to be positive but it seems that when I feel positive and feel relatively calm, I get one of these nagging pains that starts my stressing again xo
Good luck with your CT scan tomorrow. I have to say it was a breeze - apart from the bit where you feel you’ve wet yourself!
Thank you so much. It’s the results I’m dreading more. I’m so scared incase they see spread. I’m still feeling these nagging pains and trying not to think the worst.
I prob will pee myself- my pelvic floor isn’t what it used to be! Xo
Best of luck. It’s over really quickly and then you can try to put it out of your mind for a little while. (easier said that done, I know!)
Thank you! I’m trying to ignore these wee pains but my mind is in overdrive. I’ll be glad to get it out if the way.
Sam
Waiting is the worst part , I had pains everywhere every little niggle thought it had spread it is normal to feel that way even if it’s not the news you wanted you do feel relieved and you can face it head

Totally get how you are feeling. Hopefully it is just the worry of it all.
Thank you! I will update when I know. I can’t remember how long they said results would take but I will hope for the best Thank goodness for this forum. Being able to chat to everyone has been a saviour for my sanity this last couple of weeks xo
I’m a master at worrying so I need to get a handle on it and stop doing extra harm with it! Xo
