Hi,
Dies an one have heavy depression or anxiety with the Antihormone therapy? I get it with Letrozol, Exemestan and Tamoxifen. If I don’t take it It’s gone.
Did an one have anything like this and did it get better with time?

Hi I’m sorry you are having such a difficult time . There are certainly people on the forum who have had this experience too . I will try and find the most recent discussion if I can and post a link .
Hi Destiny,
I suffered terrible anxiety, insomnia and depression with Tamoxifen. After 8 months on it I was convinced I was developing alzheimers as my memory and abilities were so bad, this lead to more anxiety so my conditions just got worse.
I was in a right state! I was visiting family and forgot to take the Tam and suddenly thought could it be what is causing my memory probs etc So I stopped then after 8 months. Thankfully am much better now largely due to my GP who pointed out that the insomnia and anxiety are both contributing to memory, depression etc and put me on mirtazapine and thankfully I sleep all night now (always been a bad sleeper). It is also an anti-depressant.
I have to see my onc after 3 months off the Tam so that is early Sept. My memory isn’t great but improving. Anxiety largely gone but I am still taking things easy. I am 68 and retired so that is easy for me to do. I had put all the changes down to my age. No one said, oh, by the way there can be these side effects from Tam, all it says on the pack info leaflet is mood changes - Huh!
I have lost weight and stopped alcohol. I had grade 2 ductal, no nodes affected. Not sure what I will decide in Sept. It’s amazing how differently we are affected by these drugs.
I might try Letrozole but will speak to onc. Have also read of others taking a half dose.
