Hi…im new to this so excuse me if i post this incorrectly!
Im 38 years old and for the last 3-4 weeks, my right breast has felt heavy and extremely painful, more so down the side. I have felt for lumps but to be honest, im not sure if the hard mass i can feel is natural breast tissue or a lump. I have checked both breasts and the right does seem harder.
I have made an appt with GP for Wednesday but im worried - both that something is wrong or that im wasting a gp appt.
Im definately not pregnant and im on the mini pill and dont have periods.
Can anybody help - am i worrying over nothing??
Hi there, you are going to have to wait to see what the gp says. I saw mine about a lump and pain and have been referred to a breast clinic so I’m waiting on the next appointment. Reading about it on forums has been good for me seeing lots of benign results but also being realistic that it could be something more serious. It’s the not knowing that drives you mad, good luck weds x
H20…thanks for your reply. I guess there is nothing I cam do until ive seen my GP. Something definately feels different on my right side so think im doing the right thing in going doctors…
Like you say, its the now knowing and the uncertainty.
Hope you get your clinic appointment soon and all is well for you. Keep me posted xx

Never worry about wasting gps time, your health (both physical & worry) is most important. I was worried about wasting time so delayed going. I have my clinic app on Friday, staying positive like all of us should. However, we can all have wobbles & when they occur the people on here have been fabulous.
Thanks Wheezy…hope you get the right results on Friday xxx
Thanks Wheezy…i may well take you up on that after Wednesday xx
Good luck to you too…let me know how you go on xx
Well ive been to see my GP who took really detailed notes and examined me. He said my right breast felt lumpy and said it was more engorged than my left. He was satisfied I had given enough time for it not to be hormonal and has therefore referred me to clinic. I have an appt a week on Monday (3rd March).
The panic and worry has really set in now…cant see me getting much sleep in next few days…
Whatever it is or isnt, its not gonna beat me. I have two young children (11 & 7) and i live for them - thats not gonna stop now!!
I was amazed to be offered an appt whilst at the drs. He accessed the appts for 3 local hospitals and i chose the appt that was best for me and nearest in time so very pleased.
I may ring the helpline in a day or two once ive got my thoughts and questions clear in my head…Glad you found them useful - at times like this, its good to talk to people who really know what theyre talking about x
Let us know how you go on x
Take care xx
So relieved for you its not BC…anything else you can deal with. I can imagine you feel as though something was missed being in and out in 1.5 hrs but try to think positive. Im sorry your hubby couldnt go in with you when told he could…im going on my own for my appt as would rather hear any news myself then deal with how i tell my hubby if it isnt good news. Im the stronger person in our relationship and would feel i had to be strong when told if he was with me. I guess we are all different in that respect.
Let us know your full results when you get them but for now crack open a bottle of something- you deserve it xxxx
